Rise by Fashionthropic

United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF, 2006) believes that the number of children trafficked annually
is around 1.2 million.

It is estimated that two children per minute are trafficked for sexual exploitation.

About $28 billion of this is generated from commercial sexual exploitation. (International Labor Organization)

Learn more about The Problem in this handy pdf.

Love146's vision is "The abolition of child sex slavery and exploitation. Nothing less." They were founded in 2002 and are a Better Business Bureau certified 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Amos and a friend of his have been working together for a few months now on a Fashionthropic shirt to benefit Love146. They just completed Rise last night. It features a little girl both before and after she was rescued from sex trafficking. While in the depths of the pit, she's scared. Dirty. Malnourished. Abused. Discarded. Once she rises, she smiles. She's nurtured. She's healed.

Twenty-four hours after it was posted, an administrator at Skreened found it and listed it on the homepage as one of her favorites! Thanks, Michelle!

Check out the shirt. Make others aware of the problem of child sex trafficking. Talk about Love146. Follow their blog. Let's work together to end this hell.

Fashionthropic's new Boymobile line

Get over to Fashionthropic and check out the new line they've dubbed Boymobile. Very fun stuff! All the proceeds benefit Chaucie's Place. A fantastic organization working tirelessly as advocates for child victims of abuse.
In case you're not keeping up --- We have here Made-In-The-USA clothing, created by workers paid a fair wage, cool designs for your boys and 100% of the proceeds are given away to a non-profit org helping kids who have been neglected. Top that!

#6: Top Ten Gifts That Give

Black Friday review time! (Don't they call it "Black" because it's when all companies finally go in the black in their accounting records?)

Number six on the list is likely going to be our favorite. Because it's one that is so close to our hearts. A new store over at Skreened called Fashionthropic has new Well Water Project T shirts. There are four designs to choose from. Our favorite is this long sleeve tee. Don't like the designs Fashionthropic has available? No problem! You can customize your own at Skreened.

Every single cent of proceeds from the sale of each shirt goes to fund the Well Water Project. A vision cast by folks from The Well in song with Horizon International to get clean water to AIDS orphans in Zimbabwe, Africa. Learn more about the project via this handy little digital brochure.

Another very cool plus with these shirts is that they're made sweatshop free on American Apparrel digs, inked with water-based inks AND Skreened as a company gives away 10% of it's monthly profits to local causes they believe in. Sweet! More on Skreened ethics here.

If ever there was a time for a gift like this, it's Black Friday. You don't even have to wait in any lines or fight traffic. Just click on over.
