the Ostrich Bachelor Party

A little over a month ago, the soon-to-be-wed Ostrich-of-a-brother to Amos, Adam, was wisked off to Montana for a Bachelor Party not soon be forgotten by his elder brother, Ty Miller, Josh Cecil and Ryan Casey.

O didn't know where he was going until he opened up a gift (this shirt) at the Indianapolis airport. He was pleased.

A couple flights later + an hour drive to from Billings, the five arrive to Bozeman, Montana...guests of Drew and Kaycee for the next three days. Thanks again for the hospitality. You two were great to us!

First night, camping under the Great Sky.

Next day, to Yellowstone National Park. Trust us...it's worth all the hype and then some. We saw bears, waterfalls, a wolf (some still argue it was only a coyote - city boys), a prehistoric tree, tons of elk, bald eagles, gysers, hiked, waded through boiling rivers, etc, etc. Outstanding place!

buffalo are large mammals

and should be approached very slowly

The Ostrich clipped his wing on a bolder during a hike. It clotted at superhuman pace and we cleaned it up nice and neat when we got back.

Look! Old Faithful!

"What a full day brother. Do you want to float down a lazy river tomorrow and get sunburnt?" "Sure!"
round the trip out with some laughs, brews and a few rounds of caps...

and a Bird is ready to get married!

Want a cheap day of Family Fun?

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 11th and save up a few pennies. Healthy Families of Hamilton County is having everyone out to Ben and Ari's in Fishers for lunch, mini-golf, face painting, silent auction and more to raise awareness of their program in Hamilton County. It's only $5 per person and it's a great cause! Contact Crystal by email to get your tickets now before they sell out.

Healthy Families of Hamilton County is one of the local causes supported by our church body, The Well. When first planting The Well, leaders in our group met with city officials in Fishers and learned that the number one problem in our white collar community is child abuse. Not sure what we expected the answer to be, but it wasn't child abuse. Jesus had a lot to say/do/love for the 'least of these' while he walked our land. His heart breaks for children who can't help themselves out of the situations they're in. And, because of His Grace in our lives, our hearts break for them too. The Well is acting on more than just that heartache by working alongside organizations like Healthy Families to put a stop to child abuse in our community.

You and your family can be a part of that prevention by coming out to Ben and Ari's on August 11th. It's a lot of fun. We just did a similar event with Chaucie's Place and had a great time! You'll even have a chance to bid on an IndyCar Cares gift in the silent auction which includes a FREE ride in a 2-seater IndyCar!

The Little Children and Jesus
"People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.' And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them." - Mark 10:13-16

Horrible fire at The Simple Way

For those of you familiar with Shane Claiborne and The Simple Way, their neighborhood in Philadelphia was almost completely engulfed in a fire yesterday. No lives were taken, but they lost most everything else other than the most important thing -- their relationships. If you feel compelled to offer a donation, go to thesimpleway.org to learn more. If you aren't familiar with The Simple Way or Shane's work, please visit the website. We also strongly recommend you pick up a copy of Irresistible Revolution. It's one of Amos's favorite books.

LA plays with his cute girlfriends

Jenni brought the girls over for a visit this afternoon.

ok.....this is a super woman if you haven't seen one before. Look at her....that takes some serious talent and on top of being talented, she looks fabulous!

toys, toys and more toys. Thank goodness for a garage sale my Mom and I found this past weekend. I get so excited when I am driving, see a garage sale sign, and find such great stuff for a quarter!

LA is chillin' and checking out the hotties across the way!

A night with our little newphew Raymond

So, the night began at 7:30PM with Daddy putting Landon to sleep and
then himself!

And then we find out Ruby (sister-in-law) is very sick and needs to go to the emergency room, so we were able to watch little Raymond through the morning hours. He is 6 days old and such a cutie. Ruby is doing better...it might be the flu. Yuck and no fun after birthing a child!

another sweet pic of the little guy sleeping.

Grandma got me a fun shirt for Christmas that I am finally able to wear.
Debbie- Do you reconize the shirt? Thanks!

Landon with his Nana and Papa earlier on.
